Running from the 1930s through the end of the 1970s, the EM era is covered in depth in the Pinball Compendium. Even better is the in-depth look at some of the personalities and historical events which shaped pinball: innovators such as David Gottlieb, and events such as the banning of pinball in New York in the 1940s.
